Broccoli and cauliflower have tightly packed florets. Insects, worms or bugs may be hiding in the florets. To get rid of them, cut the broccoli or cauliflower into small florets and soak them in salt water. Rinse them in clean water before cooking.

- Set the correct temperature for the type of fabric.

- Start with items which need lower temperatures. This is to avoid heating and reheating the iron.

- Switch off the iron and use the residual heat for small items, such as handkerchiefs and ties.
