An easy and faster way to peel garlic is to place the garlic clove on the chopping board, and whack or press it with the flat side of a board knife, break open the clove. Then cut away the woody end of the garlic clove. This skin will come out easily.
If you want the whole garlic clove intact, just soak the clove in cold water for a few minutes. The skin will slips off easily, leaving the whole clove intact.
