When the zipper is stiff and hard to work, rub some candle wax on the teeth of the zipper. It will make the zipper slide up and down more smoothly.

If you have a problem opening jars or bottles, try some of the following methods:

- Try using latex dishwashing gloves or rubber computer mouse pad as they give a non-slip grip to the jar lid or bottle cap, or 

- Tie some rubber bands around the lid or cap, then cover a cloth over it and turn, or

- Turn the jar or bottle horizontally, carefully run some warm water over the lid or cap. The heat of the water will expand the lid or cap.

- Choose the correct unit size for your household need. Heating unused water in an oversized unit will waste electricity.

- Choose an instantaneous water heater instead of a storage water heater.

- Try not to use water heater when the weather is hot.

- If you are using storage water heater, just switch it on just a few minutes before use or switch. it on for about 20-30 minutes alternate days, instead of leaving it on all day.
